Owens Corning Basement Finishing System was used in the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s Fishing School

Owens Corning Basement Finishing is proud to have been part of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s transformation of the Fishing School in Washington, D.C. The school, founded in 1990, provides a safe haven and academic support programs to under-served area children and youth.
Students are enjoying a new computer room in the school’s newly renovated basement thanks to Owens Corning Basement Finishing in Manassas, Virginia and its installation of the award winning Owens Corning™ Basement Finishing system™. The basement system’s superb acoustic qualities really fit well with the purpose of the computer room, which is designed to be a quiet place students can use to improve their computer skills. The Fishing School makeover was profiled as part of the February 14, 2010 EMHE television episode.
Owens Corning Basement Finishing along with other sponsors worked to make possible the impossible for this deserving organization. The Fishing School programs have gone on to reach 2,500 students and their parents.
“By teaching children to fish in the rivers of their minds, the Fishing School is changing generations,” says school founder Tom Lewis.
