FAQs

The FAQs of the Owens Corning Basement Finishing System

  • Q. What if my basement has a leak? Will I have to destroy my basement walls to fix it?

    A. No. Our Owens Corning™ Basement Finishing System™ has removable walls or panels. If there is an issue, you can take out the panel, deal with the issue and put the panel back in. This way a small issue does not become a major problem.

  • Q. Will it waterproof my basement?

    A. Our basement finishing system is moisture-resistant to accommodate high-humidity environments. It cannot, however, correct an existing water problem in your basement.

  • Q. What are the acoustic benefits of adding insulation to my basement?

    A. Our Owens Corning™ Basement Finishing System™ delivers up to 95% sound absorption providing good sound quality to your room. The noise downstairs in the basement stays downstairs without traveling to other areas of the home.

  • Q. Will my household activities be upset for a length of time and will there be excessive dust during the installation of the Owens Corning™ Basement Finishing System™?

    A. No. Our professional crews should be finished with your new living space in only about two weeks time. We install your basement finishing system quickly and easily without filling your home with drywall dust.

  • Q. How will I benefit using Owens Corning’s insulation?

    A. Our company invented fiberglass insulation and it is proven to save you money on your home’s energy bills. Your basement will stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. You are even eligible for the $1,500 tax credit for using energy efficient products.

  • Q. Will I have access to my foundation walls?

    A. Yes. The Basement Finishing System™ provides easy access with removable walls and trim components. You can quickly address an electric or plumbing problem without having to tear out any walls.

  • Q. What are the health dangers of mold or mildew forming in my basement?

    A. Exposure to mold and mildew can cause upper respiratory illnesses. Unlike drywall or sheet rock, our walls are breathable, and do not support mold or mildew growth.

  • Q. What areas do you service?

    A. Owens Corning Basement Finishing System service Central Ohio, Cincinnati, Dayton, and surrounding areas of Pickerington, Delaware, Powell, Gahanna, Westerville, Circleville, Newark, Marion, Canal Winchester, Lancaster, Springfield, Dublin, Centerville, and more.

  • Q: Can you provide references?

A: Yes. Contact us and we will happily provide you with references. You can call them and get direct answers about the quality of our work and the friendliness of our service.

  • Q: When deciding on a contractor, should I consider anything besides price?

A: Yes. You should ask about 4 other key components. One, find out the level of experience a contractor has in the type of project you are considering. Two, what is the quality of the materials they are using – any contractor should be able to explain this clearly and thoroughly.

Next, find out what guarantees and warranties are being offered. Lastly, check out their overall reputation. Do they hesitate when asked for references? Can they show you testimonials, accreditations, and awards? What is their Better Business Bureau Rating? (Visit our Reputation page to learn more). To better understand how to compare contractors, we recommend downloading the FREE Contractor Standards Guide.

  • Q: What kind of warranties do you offer?

A: We believe that anything we install should have a lifetime warranty. We are very picky about the products we offer and INSIST that they all carry a lifetime warranty. If a manufacturer isn’t willing to stand behind their product, we won’t touch them.

  • Q: Do you offer financing?

A: Yes. If you want a new basement but prefer to spread it out, we have payment plans that start as low as $179 per month. For baths we have payments as low as $79 per month. We can go even lower depending on the product. Zero down options and 12 month deferred interest choices are available for qualified buyers.

You do not need to have perfect credit – decent credit will qualify. Go to our Financing page for more details.

  • Q: Do you accept credit cards?

A: Yes, we accept all major credit cards.

  • Q: How can I get a price quote from you?

A: The best way is to call 614-754-4102 or go here to fill out the Contact Us form. We will schedule an appointment at a time that works for your schedule.

We promise that our price quote estimate process will be respectful to you. We are particular about who we hire – you’ll feel completely comfortable with the person who comes to give you an estimate. We also don’t believe in high-pressure sales techniques or pricing games.
